Dr. Mikio Sankey has decided to take a little excursion from writing the Esoteric Acupuncture Series of books and to temporarily write and record music. Tentatively the album will be called Mountain Castle: Into the Mountain and is scheduled to be available in late June 2018.
There will be approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes of original music in 2 CDs. Most of the music and lyrics were written by Mikio Sankey except the lyrics to Keep Smiling which were written by Ynez Anthony and 2 instrumental compositions by Edwing Sankey. The music will be a compilation of musical styles from the American traditions of rhythm n’ blues, progressive rock, jazz, country with some Asian and other journeys intertwined within the music.
The format will consist of vocals, electric guitars, butterfly harp, zithers, ukulele, Fender Rhodes, synthesizer and organ, drums, upright bass and electric bass, drums, congas, percussion, violin and viola.
If you expand the format and thinking brought forth in Esoteric Acupuncture, you will realize that music is part of the concept of Esoteric Shaoyin consisting of the opposing but complementary opposites of heart and kidneys. In Chinese Medicine, the drums and rhythm are part of the water element of the kidneys. In the Hindu yoga system, the inner esoteric wisdom within the Esoteric Acupuncture books are part of Jnana Yoga of Love/Wisdom of the Higher Heart. Mountain Castle Music is merely an extension of Esosteric Acupuncture. We are “piercing” the temple of our souls with sound and energy vibrations.
